Savile Row and St James’s
Sunday 15th Tuesday 17th June 2014, London, W1
This June, for London Collections: Men, the bespoke tailors of Savile Row and The Woolmark Company, along with London’s best shirt makers and hatters, present the modern face of British elegance documented through a series of images and a film released on social media. The film is a reminder of the fact that London is the world capital of masculine style, and has been for over two centuries.
This season The English Gentleman is on Leave. We see him prepare for his trip visiting the tailors of Savile Row and commissioning the bespoke pieces that he will need. The five items produced in the film for The English Gentleman include a multi pocket and versatile travel jacket by Holland and Holland in Holland and Sherry wool fabric, a lightweight Cool Wool dinner suit by Henry Poole in Charles Clayton fabric, wide leg Scabal Cool Wool trousers in the season’s bright colours by Kathryn Sargent, a navy blazer by Richard Anderson and a cream suit with patch pockets by Anderson and Sheppard. Each of these essential items create the all important capsule collection.

Through ‘The English Gentleman’, now in its 4th Season, Savile Row tailors and the gentlemen’s houses of St James’s continue to present the finest collections, in the most iconic and exclusive settings in London.
The images and films are by Sean Thomas.
The tailoring will represent a powerful combination of beautiful materials – principally Cool Wool – and first class craftsmanship.
